The vote counting has been slow all along and even now, Sunday morning at 9, there are only 70 percent of precincts reported. A comment quoted from the San Francisco Chronicle reads, “We’ve seen developing countries where folks lining up to vote with purple thumbs do better.” Here are the available results:
|
Candidate |
Percent |
|
Romney |
47.6 |
|
Gingrich |
22.7 |
|
Paul |
18.6 |
|
Santorum |
11.1 |
If this holds, it means that Romney will finish lower than he did in 2008. Paul, who nearly matched Romney dollar for dollar in ads in Nevada and poured everything but the kitchen sink into the state, gained only about three percentage points over his 2008 showing—and lost second place in the process.
